December 25th is... Christmas, The Twelve Days of Christmas/Twelvetide, Nativity Scene Birthday (1223), National Pumpkin Pie Day, A'Phabet Day or No L Day, Christmas (or Plum) Pudding Day, National Kiss the Cook Day, Stock Exchange Holiday, St. Eugenia's Day, Feast of Winter Veil

- An annual holiday celebrated on December 25 commemorating the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. The day marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days. The nativity of Jesus, which is the basis for the anno Domini system of dating, is thought to have occurred between 7 and 2 BC. December 25 is not known to be Jesus' actual date of birth, and the date may have been chosen to correspond with either a Roman festival or the winter solstice.

Nativity Scene Birthday (1223)
- The Nativity scene or Christmas crib is said to have originated with Saint Francis in 1223 when he constructed a nativity scene out of straw in a cave in the town of Greccio and held Christmas Eve mass there.

National Pumpkin Pie Day
- Pumpkin pie is steeped in holiday tradition. The peak consumption period for pumpkin pie begins at the fall harvest, lasting all the way through to the Christmas meal and dessert.

A'Phabet Day or No L Day
- This celebration is for people who do not want to send Christmas cards but who want to greet their friends; so they send out cards listing the letters of the alphabet in order, but with a gap where the L would be.

Stock Exchange Holiday
- The stock exchanges, particularly the NYSE on Wall Street and the London Stock Exchange in England, close on the Christian holidays of Good Friday and Christmas.
