If a gadget is missing cords, remotes, or adapters, the discounted price usually isn’t worth the headache of tracking down replacements.

Avoid deeply discounted beauty products.
Makeup, lotions, and skincare on clearance are often there because they’re close to expiration or have been discontinued. That means the formula might not be at its best anymore — and expired skincare can irritate your skin. Unless it’s sealed, dated, and from a brand you trust, skip it.
