Don’t forget to use up all of your HSA/FSA, before the last day of the year!
When deciding on your yearly contribution, consider a few items that can help you get the most out of your FSA:
- Sunscreen - SPF 15 or greater, offering broad spectrum protection, is eligible for FSA.
- Eye Care Products - Eyeglass repair kits, cleaning wipes, contact lens solution, and accessories.
- Transportation - Travel primarily for and essential to medical care can be paid for with your FSA. Includes car and rental car expenses, bus, taxi, train, plane and ferry fares, and ambulance services. A standard mileage rate for use of a car to obtain medical care is allowed, as well as parking fees and tolls.
- Condoms/Contraceptives - play a major role in supporting reproductive wellness, including preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) - eligible for FSA.
- Pill Boxes - make it easy to line up medications for each day of the week to help you stay on top of your daily health choices.
- Prenatal Vitamins - help to supplement nutritional requirements needed during pregnancy, to promote the healthy development and help prevent potential birth defects.
- Smoking Cessation - gums and patches are covered by FSA.
- Hot/Cold Packs - for pain relief and following a muscle strain or pull. Must-haves and are eligible for FSA reimbursement.
- Handicap License Plates - Fees may vary from state to state, the added cost over standard license plates associated with the purchase of handicap/disabled license plates may be eligible with your FSA.
