Veterans Day
- an American holiday honoring military veterans. It is celebrated in the United States or where ever a veteran lives in the world. It is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice ending World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

-- an event intended to express appreciation for men and women currently (and sometimes formerly) in military service, usually the day after Veterans Day or Memorial Day. Many restaurants give a free thank-you dinner to any person who has ever served in the United States Military.

Remembrance Day
- (also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day or Veterans Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth countries such as Canada and Great Britain to remember the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war, specifically since the First World War.

Death/Duty Day
- Honoring soldiers on both sides who died on November 11, 1918, the day of the armistice that ended the fighting in WWI, 1914–18. The order was to stop fighting at 11 am, rather than on receipt of the order.

National Domino Day
- a world record attempt for the highest number of toppling domino stones, organized each year by Endemol Netherlands. Together with Weijers Domino Productions of Robin Paul Weijers, also known as Mr. Domino, parties team up to set a new world record.

National Donor Sabbath Days
- To increase awareness about the dire need for organs and tissues for transplantation and to dispel fears that tissue and organ donation is incompatible with religion. Annually, Friday, Saturday and Sunday two weekends before Thanksgiving.

National Sundae Day
- Some historians claim but never proven to be true, that the name sundae was created in response to the Blue Laws which said ice cream sodas could not be sold on Sundays because they were too frilly. For some reason the righteous very much against what they called sucking soda (especially on the Sabbath and the clergy started preaching against them).

Origami Day
- Origami is the well-known art of folding paper into desired shapes. According to the NOA, origami first began in Japan around the time paper was introduced from China in the 7th century. It was originally used to help decorate places for religious rituals but slowly evolved over the centuries into an aesthetic art form with multiple schools of the disciple.

Route 66 Birthday
- U.S. Route 66 (also known as the Will Rogers Highway after the humorist, and colloquially known as the "Main Street of America" or the "Mother Road") was a highway in the U.S. Highway System. One of the original U.S. highways, Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926. However, road signs did not go up until the following year.

God Bless America First Performed
- Irving Berlin wrote this song, especially for Kate Smith. She first sang it during her regular radio broadcast in 1938. It quickly became a great patriotic favorite of the nation and one of Smith’s most requested songs.

- An annual day celebrating ordinary people around the world doing extraordinary things. Also, a day to encourage people to reach into their imaginations and attempt to break their own Guinness World Record. Sponsored by Guinness World Records, the universally recognized authority on record-breaking achievement.
