Yesterday I posted the following news:
HOT US COUPONS - Walmart now accepts competitor coupons! From their weekly ad:
“We’ll match the price of any local competitor’s printed ad or coupon for an identical product. We match competitor’s coupons. And we gladly accept one valid manufacturer’s coupon per item.”
Today I received a letter from a reader with important information that I wanted to share:
"I know you work very hard at your site and try to only report legitimate things. I am writing to let you know the post on Walmart accepting competitors coupons is a mistake. People are misreading the ad. It says they will match competitors coupons, it does not say accept. There are coupons posted in Walgreens ads for example.
These coupons are not for a discount off of a product. It is for a specific product at a price. Like this week Palmolive dish soap is listed in a coupon for 99 cents. They will match the price in that coupon for the 99 cent Palmolive.
One that says $1 off Palmolive will not be accepted, because Walgreens (or whichever store owns the coupon) may have their item at a much higher starting price. There are also many other sites reporting that this is a mistake. Several people who have called Wal-mart themselves and found that no they do not accept competitors coupons.
Just trying to help so people don't get upset when they go to wal-mart and get turned down. Thanks for all you do on the site. It is one of the best and most reliable sites I have found.
Michelle
Thanks Michelle!
QUICK FREEBIE TIP:
All freebies are posted without prejudice. I have no political/religious/personal agenda to promote here, and I may not even agree with the message the freebie is promoting. But freebie censorship is not what this site is about. If you don't agree with the message a freebie is promoting, just pass on the freebie. The next one I find might be one you do believe in, and someone else might disagree.
