AprilPet Owners Independence Day
- the purpose of this special day is for you to take a break and let your pets take over . . . and do a role-playing switcheroo! If you could rest and play all day, what daily chore or duty would you most wish your pets could take over for you? Source

National Cheeseball Day
- This holiday is celebrated by making your favorite cheese ball and share it with your family! Here's a few recipes if you haven't got one of your own: Cheese Ball Recipes by Martha Stewart

Daffy Duck's Birthday
- Daffy first appeared on April 17, 1937, in Porky's Duck Hunt, directed by Tex Avery and animated by Bob Clampett. The cartoon is a standard hunter/prey pairing for which Leon Schlesinger's studio was famous, but Daffy (barely more than an unnamed bit player in this short) was something new to moviegoers: an assertive, completely unrestrained, combative protagonist. Ellis Island Family History Day
- Historically, Apr 17 marks the day in 1907 when more immigrants were processed through Ellis Island island than on any other day in its colorful history: 11,747 people. Source

Ford Mustang Introduced
- The first-generation Ford Mustang is the original pony car, manufactured by Ford Motor Company from 1964 until 1973. It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale the following year. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment. Source

Blah, Blah, Blah Day
- This just might be the blah-est day of the year. The intent of this day is to do all of the projects and things that people have been nagging you to do. This may include quitting a habit, losing weight, or working on home projects. The "Honey Do" list or job jar is a top target for today. Source
