Check Your Batteries Day
- We use them for everything, so check up on your batteries today...and on a regular basis too! Start by recharging any battery that needs to be recharged. Next, go around your house and dig for batteries. Look in your smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, HVAC thermostat, audio/visual remote controls and other electronic devices; any device that uses batteries and make a change

And, it's definitely a guy thing. Please note however, there are more than a few ladies who love to work with their hands, and find today to be an important holiday.

Johnny Appleseed Day
- Johnny Appleseed Day honors one of America's great legends. Johnny Appleseed was a real person. John Chapman was among the American settlers who were captivated by the movement west across the continent.
