Publisher: Penguin Books; Reprint edition (February 28, 2012)Sesame Street Rubber Duckie's Birthday/National Rubber Ducky Day (1970)
-- Did you know that in January of 1992, a shipment of 29,000 rubber duckies fell off a cargo ship in the Pacific Ocean? By 2007, the Friendly Floatees had traveled 17,000 miles around the world on the ocean currents. Some are still afloat today! Over time, people reported seeing the duckies in places such as Australia, Indonesia, South America, the Bering Strait, the Arctic, and in the Atlantic Ocean!

Read: Moby-Duck: The True Story of 28,800 Bath Toys Lost at Sea
-- When the writer Donovan Hohn heard of the mysterious loss of thousands of bath toys at sea, he figured he would interview a few oceanographers, talk to a few beachcombers, and read up on Arctic science and geography. But questions can be like ocean currents: wade in too far, and they carry you away. Hohn's accidental odyssey pulls him into the secretive arena of shipping conglomerates, the daring work of Arctic researchers, the lunatic risks of maverick sailors, and the shadowy world of Chinese toy factories. Moby-Duck is a journey into the heart of the sea and an adventure through science, myth, the global economy, and some of the worst weather imaginable.

National Peach Melba Day
- Peach Melba was created in the late 1800s by French chef Escoffier for Dame Nellie Melba, a popular Australian opera singer. It is a concoction consisting of peach halves (poached in syrup), filled with vanilla ice cream, then topped with melba sauce (a raspberry sauce).

Sesame Street Rubber Duckie's Birthday (1970)
- Rubber Duckie is Ernie's toy duck and most treasured possession. Ernie has expressed his fondness for his duckie in several songs, most famously Rubber Duckie, but the duck has also figured in Put Down the Duckie, D-U-C-K-I-E, Do De Rubber Duck, and The Honker-Duckie-Dinger Jamboree.

Public Radio Broadcasting Day (1910)
- Birth of public radio broadcasting is credited to Lee de Forest. On January 13, 1910, the first public radio broadcast was an experimental transmission of a live Metropolitan Opera House performance of several famous opera singers.

Make Your Dreams Come True Day
- Today gives you the opportunity to do something to realize your goals and dreams. Whatever your dreams are, they usually don't come true without some effort on your part. So, today is the perfect opportunity to do something about it.

International Skeptics Day
- Here is the perfect day for you... the doubting Thomas. Perhaps the earth isn't really round!? Maybe, the sky isn't truly blue!? Does he (she) really love me!? These are the words and questions of the classical skeptic.
