🚦 Featured Day: Automatic Traffic Light Birthday (1923)
On November 20, 1923, inventor Garrett Morgan received the U.S. patent for one of the most life-saving tools ever created — the automatic traffic light. His innovative design helped reduce accidents, protect pedestrians, and eventually evolve into the red–yellow–green traffic signals used worldwide today.
Morgan, a brilliant African American inventor and businessman, also created the early gas mask, sewing machine improvements, and other safety innovations that still benefit us today.
