Image: Swagbucks is a rewards site where you earn points (called SB) for things you're probably doing online already, like searching, watching videos, discovering deals, and taking surveys

It's April, and Swagbucks has an early Easter treat in the form of a $5 bonus!

Swagbucks is a rewards site where you earn points (called SB) for things you're probably doing online already, like searching, watching videos, discovering deals, and taking surveys.

Then you take those points and exchange them for gift cards to places like Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, Target, or PayPal cash.

When you sign up through me this month, you can earn a $5 bonus! Here's how:

1. Sign up using this link

2. Earn 300 SB total before 5/1/17. You'll get a $3 (300 SB) bonus for it!

3. If you spend at least $25 through Swagbucks Shop* you'll get another $2 (200 SB) bonus on top of the cash back you'll get from shopping.
If you have some shopping to do online, just go to Swagbucks first and visit the store through them.
It doesn't cost you anything extra, but you'll get SB points for every dollar you spend (on top of the bonus)!

That's it. It's super easy, and Swagbucks is for real.

I use it myself, and I've earned 4,218 SBs just this month alone. I use it to grab Amazon gift cards - to cover my love for Amazon shopping!

*You must receive your shopping SB before June 1st

Image: Keep Bananas Fresh Longer, by snapguide.com
Cut a small piece of plastic cling wrap, about the size of the palm of your hand.

Wrap the plastic tightly at the top/stem of the bananas.

Then hang up your bananas! Keeps the fruit from bruising and the air circulation allows for even ripening.

Carefully remove and replace the plastic cling wrap each time you get a banana. Enjoy for 3-5 days longer than usual!

Jamie Knox-Wagner posted: Another helpful hint: Take the banana's apart. They last longer not all bunched together!

Emily Kathryn posted: If you place them in the fridge they last longer! The skins will brown quickly but the banana stays perfect for days!!

Evie L. Reid posted: You don't have to re-wrap... just use kitchen shears to cut off a banana under the wrap. Also easier for little hands to peel when you do that.

Donna Beebe Olson posted: Wow, I never knew that. Thanks for the tip!

Alma Vanderlinden posted: If you peel from the other end you don't get the strings either. FYI

Image: How and Why to Clean Bath Toys!
Do you clean out your children's bath toys?

Did you realize they harbor mold that can give your child rashes - and well, it's just gross and nasty!

You will probably need to use bleach to clean them out, and toss the real nasty ones.

But I love this tip - just glue up the hole with a glue gun and no more mold!

NOTE: If your child is the type to be able to remove the glue and eat it, this might not be the tip for you. Since the glue goes inside, I am not sure how they could do this, but I know some kids seem to do the impossible!

REMEMBER: Little children should always be supervised while in the bathtub, so do keep watch on the toys for removed glue.

From our Facebook fan page:

Lynda Tomkinson posted: They need to just make better bath toys

Amy Merrell posted: Good idea, except if you stop up the holes they can't squirt them anymore. The squirting is what my kids like about their bath toys. I just clean them out good with bleach water from time to time. The nasty ones get tossed.

Ann Caillier posted: I never did understand why they put the hole in the bottom of them things anyway, I don't think that my rubber ducky had a hole in the bottom

Erin Tucker posted: Why didn't I think of this!?!?!?! We've thrown away tons of bath toys and have a hard time finding new ones because they all have that hole and get moldy. whoo hoo!

Jennifer Theunissen posted: Thanks for the tip! I stopped buying anything with holes just because it's to hard to clean. My kiddos will be very happy to get some more duckies to play with :) Thanks

Jennifer Krane posted: I throw mine in the dishwasher every now and then. If they can't take the heat - then I throw them out. I always need a quick fix because they take a bath almost every night.

Jessica Glendon posted: Jennifer ... be careful...dish-washing soap is one of the most caustic substances in our homes...so if any residual soap is getting stuck inside, that could be doing your children as much/more damage. Just FYI.

Lourena Little posted: I wouldn't buy toys with holes in them, that would solve the problem .

Swagbucks is hosting another round of Shopping Swago!

What is SWAGO you ask? It's a bingo-inspired promotion run by Swagbucks, a website that rewards you with points (called SB) for completing everyday online activities. You can redeem those SB for free gift cards.

If you've never used Swagbucks, participating in SWAGO is a great introduction to the site and an easy way to earn a good amount of points quickly.

Here’s what you need to know to get your 200 SB Bonus (and don’t worry, you don’t have to make a purchase to complete a pattern):

 • Shop Swago will begin on Monday, March 27th at 9am PT/12pm ET, make sure you hit "Join" otherwise you won’t get credit for completing the action items. Each square on your Swago Board will contain an action item to complete.

 • Once you complete the action item in a particular square the square will change color signifying the action item is complete.

 • You have a limited amount of time to mark off as many squares as possible so use your time wisely.

 • Be mindful of the patterns and their corresponding bonuses located on the right of your Swago Board. The patterns will vary in difficulty and bonus value.

 • Once you’ve achieved a pattern the corresponding "Submit" button will light up. You can have multiple patterns available for submission, however, you can only submit ONE pattern so choose wisely.

 • The game ends Friday, March 31st at 12pm PDT/3pm EDT. So make sure to hit “Submit” on the pattern you wish to submit. If you don’t hit "Submit" before the game ends you won’t receive your SB bonus.

Image: A Noodle in Your Boots
This is one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moment!!

Now that it's warm weather again, you have probably put your boots away? But if they droop, it's bad for the fabric/leather material.

You could stuff your boots with newspaper, but that usually doesn't work so well.

You could buy Boot Stands, but they are expensive - especially if you have more than one pair of boots!

Why not use a
pool noodle in place of boot stands? It is so much cheaper ($1.00-$2.00 at the Dollar Store). Just cut them to fit your boots - tall or short!

I signed up to Swagbucks way back in 2010 - and have earned 318,685 SBs so far! I have exchanged these SBs for Amazon gift cards and Paypal - for gifts, paid bills and personal purchases.

Right now I have almost enough for my second $25 Amazon gift card this month - makes shopping on Amazon so much fun!

Image: Crate Seats, My Way
There was a time that we used old milk crates to hold up a beautiful wooden table top that we found in the garbage - to make a coffee table.

It looked great, though it felt a bit cheesy...

However, these really do look cute and would make a great addition to the playroom - or even classroom! They are seats - made out of file crates.

You just make a cushion (out of plywood, foam and fabric - staple or hot glue gun in place) to place on the crate.

For little children, you could place the cushion on the open top of the crate, and use the inside of the crate for storage.

For an older child or teen, you need to put the cushion on the bottom side of the crate, and use the crate with the open side down.

Using a vinyl tablecloth for your seat covering fabric would make your seat easy to clean - and great for outdoor use!

When they went to pick up their mail, they got 2 plastic bags full of samples!

Here's another fun team challenge to help you earn SB from Swagbucks! For those of you who don't know what Swagbucks is, it's a website where you can earn cash back on everyday tasks you do online like shopping, answering surveys, discovering deals, and watching videos. You can even earn for searching the web!

If you've never tried Swagbucks before because you didn't know where to begin, their Team Challenges are a great way to learn the ropes! Their latest, the Spring Reading Team Challenge, begins Monday, March 20th.

Here's how you can join the challenge and the site:

1. Click here to join the challenge and be assigned to a team. Pre-registration is going on right now! If you don't already have an account, you can sign up on this page as well.

2. Starting March 20th at 8am PT, in addition to earning SB you'll contribute points to your teams total as you complete different activities on Swagbucks.

3. Check back on the page often to see the scores and what you've contribute so far.

All members who participate and contribute at least 400 points to their team’s total will receive a SB bonus in the form of a SB Swag Up Rebate on their next gift card!

Not only that, but if you earn 300 SB before April 1st, you'll get a 300 SB bonus (as long as you've signed up under me)!
