-- There are multiple threats to rhinos' survival, nearly all caused by humans. Over the past few decades, a drastic decline in population numbers has been fueled by the illegal rhino horn trade, habitat loss, and political conflict. Poaching of rhino horn for the production of traditional Chinese medicine is the greatest threat facing rhinos today. Since 2001, Save the Rhino has grown from a small charity raising £300,000 a year to around £2,000,000 for programs in six African and two Asian countries for all five rhino species.
